Drupal Hacker - Activist - Industry Organizer - I am a member of Agaric, a worker owned cooperative of web developers. We build platforms and applications using free software. Because we are part of the Free Software movement, we build on tools and frameworks created and tested by thousands of people. Our goal is to give you power over your web sites and online technology. Agaric also hosts events in Boston and we all speak at events around the world on building cooperative business models based on social justice and the power of cooperative development using free software and hardware to build a free society.

Cooperative Development - Thinking Outside the Boss!
Worker-owned cooperatives are businesses owned and controlled by the people who work in them. They are a time-tested way to create quality jobs, and are gaining momentum as a strategy to build and anchor wealth in communities. A cooperative is based on one worker = one vote. We will define how cooperative development is the foundation of a free society.

Justice is a big part of the worker cooperative movement. Fairness and openness are values that must be in place for cooperative efforts to survive and flourish. Bringing democracy and social equality to your projects through cooperation is a way to succeed.

Agaric is a worker-owned cooperative with members from around the globe. We work collectively on projects. We share the work and share the profits. We are active members of the United States Federation of Workers Cooperatives (USFWC -http://usworker.coop). I will present some ideas and processes that work for us and others, and discuss the options to build cooperative businesses in technology and beyond.

Agaric is a transparent company and I will share details of how we are structured, how we have been able to grow and how we enable others by building software and platforms for cooperation!
